Earlier this month I had the honour of being requested to walk for Dolce & Gabbana in celebration of their Harrods Christmas Collection. As a 5 ft 9 model with more curves than most, I’d accepted from the outset of my career that I wasn’t quite catwalk material. So to be invited to walk amongst an array of inspiring individuals by one of the most prestigious brands in the business, regardless of my measurements, was a dream I could never have dreamt of come true.
Dolce and Gabbana know what’s what when it comes to fashion and through impeccable attention to detail, the clothes they make are not only desirable but inspiring too. They also know what’s what when it comes to women; they know what we want to wear and how we want to feel and combine these equally important factors artfully into exquisite clothes that enhance, ignite and empower. Whilst several of us in the show were seasoned models, most (the best of over 100 of us) were not. Yet Stefano and Domenico styled us all individually in ways to transform each one of us into Dolce & Gabbana royalty, whilst retaining every inch of our own unique characteristics and personality. It was magical.
