Upcoming Event ~ A Grounding Evening of Cacao Ceremony, Sound Healing & Natural Nourishment

Eventsdanielle coppermanComment

Next month, I will be hosting a really special evening with two dear friends of mine, Kate White and Mollie Mendoza, at Mollie’s sacred studio in East London. The evening will involve rituals for welcoming transformation, at this particularly transformational time between Autumn and Winter, and as the year draws to a close. It is a time of constant change and welcoming the unknown, and we will share our favourite rituals, as well as guiding you through a powerful, heart-opening cacao ceremony, meditation and sound healing.

This event is for anyone wanting to feel more grounded whilst a lot of things seem to be shifting or feel in flux, and for anyone wanting to feel more open, accepting and more aligned with themselves on a deeper level, as we enter into a new year of possibility, opportunity and newness.

Join myself, Kate and Mollie for an intimate and transformative journey into the heart space, as we share and explore rituals of sound, meditation and nourishment. Held together in a beautiful and intentional space, this candlelit workshop will be a chance to delve deeper within your self, to rest and receive with the support of ritual, cacao ceremony, sound journey, and creative expression followed by group sharing and seasonal treats.

This will be a special opportunity to connect and share ways in which we can support ourselves throughout the season, as well as exploring the power of intentional daily practice to cultivate inner warmth, love and an open heart.

*Practice: Cacao Ceremony, Ritual & sound journey led by Mollie Mendoza and Sam Garrett. A selection of delicious and heart warming dishes will be provided by Danielle Copperman for us to enjoy after the ceremony.

15 Dec 4pm-7pm.

If you're curious, imagine this:

You arrive at She's Lost Control; you almost walked past it because it's tucked away from the hustle of Hackney. It's a Full Moon and you're excited to do something different with your Sunday afternoon. As soon as you walk through the door; you're mesmerised by all of the mystical wares and crystals on the shelves. All of the things that you need to do in the week ahead fade away, in that moment. You don't want to be anywhere else but here.

Wolf Sister and Danielle welcome you and you're shown where to put your belongings. Without hesitation your phone's set to flight-mode and it's buried in your bag. This is your time; you do not want to be disturbed. The room is set in a circle with comfy cushions and blankets; you're already thinking of how you can bring some of these mystical vibes into your home.

Once you're seated and the rest of the group have arrived, your hostesses introduce themselves and explain how the Moon affects us. Maybe you have been picking up on some of the clues from the Moon throughout the month? They invite the rest of the group to introduce themselves; it's totally informal and relaxed. There's zero pressure to share too much and you feel a sense of relief once you've had your turn. It actually felt good to speak; nothing like the cringey introductions you've had to do in team trainings at work.

Wow, your intuition was on point when it nudged you to book your ticket.

Over the course of the session, Danielle teaches you some simple breathwork and practices to help clear your energy and help you feel more grounded; you could easily weave this into your daily routine. You notice that your head feels clearer already.

Wolf Sister explains how to set intentions to align with the Full Moon and teaches you how to work with Oracle cards so that you can tap into your intuition, anytime.

You're guided through an Oracle spread and as you work with the cards, you smile to yourself because it's as if they've have just read your mind. There's time to journal about the insights that have been flowing throughout the session. As the words flow through pen to paper, some truth bombs are affirmed and you've got some clear clues about how you can move forward.

There's magic in the air. You can feel it.

Amongst it all there's a delicious herbal infusions and light snacks from Danielle's book Well Being; which will be for sale so you can try the recipes at home.

By 7pm you can't believe the session's gone so quickly. You'd forgotten that it was possible to feel this relaxed and reinvigorated. You float home and treat yourself to something nice for dinner. It's been a Full Moon to remember; your creativity is flowing, your worries have dispersed and it's hard to feel anything but blissful. You can't wait to use the tools from the session to return to this state again, and again, and again.

See you there?

Margate Beach Clean September 8th 2018 10am-12.30pm

unnamed-11.jpg

I recently took part in my first beach clean in Hastings, and felt so inspired to organise one of my own. I really think there should be more opportunities to get involved, especially during the summer as it's actually just a really nice day out. I went with a friend and we basically just got an all-over tan, spent some quality time together not on our phones (apart from taking this photo) and did our part to help keep the planet clean and oceans healthy.

I'm going to be hosting a beach clean on September 8th, in Margate (just over 1 1/2 hours from London by train, and 2 hours by car), from 10am-12.30pm. Margate is brimming with really fun things to do too; from art galleries, vintage and boutique stores to amazing cafes and restaurants and, of course, Dreamland. So join us and make a day out of it. Get out of the city for a few hours and enjoy a day by the beach, helping us to keep the beaches and oceans clean.

We will be providing some all-natural snacks on the day, as well as some wonderful gifts from the likes of Qnola and Haeckels skincare (made in Margate!).

If you are coming, please let me know by simply leaving a comment on this blog post, including the number of friends you will be coming with.

We will meet near the Margate Clocktower - keep update on my instagram for exact details.

Hope you can join us!

Well Being Workshops at The Basics Store

Eventsdanielle coppermanComment

In line with the launch of my book, Well Being, earlier this year, I have been hosting several events, talks and workshops over the UK, sharing and teaching the rituals from the book, as well as other topics and discussions around the topic of wellbeing and my approach to it.

The next events will be taking place in July and August at The Basics Store's new pop up location in Covent Garden (15 Monmouth St, WC2H 9DA London). The series will begin with a Wake Up Well Workshop, where I will be guiding guests through my favourite morning rituals from the book, aimed to enhance energy levels, reduce fatigue and morning anxiety and enhance concentration. This session will be accompanied by a breakfast spread of Qnola and iced nut milk superfood tonics. The second will be a Wind Down Well Workshop, where I will be guiding guests through my favourite nighttime rituals from the book, aimed to reduce stress, enhance positivity and clarity and encourage deeper relaxation for sounder sleep. And the final event will be a panel discussion to celebrate the launch of my latest project, Well Being & Other Stories zine, co-created with my friend Kate White. We are excited to be hosting a panel of inspiring women to talk about the theme of Transformation. In this intimate discussion, we'll be sharing personal stories around cycles of change, and how this vital energy inspires transformation within ourselves, our relationships, our careers and environment. Join myself, crystal healer Tamara Driessen, photographer Sophie Harris Taylor and yoga and meditation guide Mollie Mendoza, for an evening discussion, followed by drinks and savoury nibbles.

QNOLA IN WAITROSE

Travel, Review, Lifestyle, Eventsdanielle coppermanComment

In 2014, I designed an unusal granola recipe made using quinoa instead of oats. For the weeks that followed, I continued to make this then-called 'Quinola' at home on my days off from modelling, to enjoy as a quick and easy breakfast as I ran out the door for early shoots or as a snack, fitted in my bag to keep me going during long days of castings, go sees and meetings. A few days ago, Qnola was launched in Waitrose stores across the country. I don't know how I got here, or how I did any of the things I did along the way. I just know that I did them, and now I am here. The bestselling flavours Almond + Vanilla and Beetroot + Pistachio are now officially stocked in 23 stores Nationwide (see our stockist map for full list of locations).

Almost two years ago, when I first changed my diet and stopped eating wheat, gluten, grains, dairy, hydrogenated fats and refined sugars, I needed a quick and effortless yet nourishing breakfast option that wasn't - like conventional cereals - basically just a flapjack broken into small pieces. Granola, despite its healthy image and the extent to which it is advertised and promoted as healthy, is in reality outrageously high in sugar, and even if these sugars are natural, your body will still register them and respond to them in a similar way to how it would respond to refined sugars. It is the quantity of sugar that you need to be careful of. On top of this, some granola's are made with butter, margerine or hydroginated fats, chemicals, preservatives, flavourings, colourings and other additives. The nuts and seeds involved are what often fool people into thinking granola is an innocent and virtuous breakfast and snack choice. And because I thought it was healthy, I used to eat it for breakfast, as a snack, and sometimes instead of or after dinner. When you think something is healthy, the amount of it that you allow yourself to consume can quickly become unhealthy.

Qnola is a range of nutritionally charged quinoa based breakfast goods, free from gluten, grains, dairy and refined sugar. With only 8g of sugar per 100g it is currently lower in sugar than any other granola company on the market, and most of these sugars come from the carbohydrate content, rather than solely the organic coconut palm sugar. The products are filling, yet light, sweet, yet very subtly, high in healthy fats, protein and fiber, and made by hand in the UK with pure superfood flavourings you won't find in many other cereal products.

.   .   .

To celebrate the launch we are running our first ever Shelfie campaign. To get involved, all you have to do is head to the nearest Waitrose store that is stocked with Qnola, take a shelfie either with the products or of the products on the shelf, tag @qnolauk and include our hashtags #wakeupwell and #qnolashelfie so we don't miss your submissions. Winners will recieve a luxury breakfast hampers worth over £100. Inside, you'll find our favourite products designed to help you Wake Up Well, from our Summer edition Qnola, Nut Blend Nut Butter, Pukka Herbs Tea, The Pressery Almond Milk and Four Sigma Mushroom Coffee to Neal's Yard Defence Oil, Ren Skincare, a Qnola Wake Up Well Eye Mask, an item of Luxury Sportswear and spiritually charged jewellery. We'll be selecting two winners at the beginning of September, so make sure you submit your posts via instagram and / or twitter before August 31st.

If there is a Waitrose store near you which isn't listed on our current stockist list, please email hithere@qnola.co.uk with the name of your town or city as the subject title and we will make it happen!
